Our Treatment Strategies

Chiropractic Treatment

At Integrative Health and Injury Center we use Atlas Orthogonal chiropractic as one of our main treatment modalities. Atlas Orthogonal is a gentle instrument adjustment invented by Dr. Roy Sweat, a chiropractor from Atlanta. The theory behind the technique is that during a whiplash injury from a car accident or a fall from a work injury the C1 vertebrae, also known as the atlas, gets subluxated or moved out of place. This can lead to a variety of symptoms including neck pain, headaches and pain throughout the spine. The technique involves an instrument adjustment of the atlas that places it within its correct alignment and alleviates the pain, discomfort and other symptoms that can arise from it being out of place. We also use other adjustments including impulse adjustments and drop table adjustments to help correct other spinal misalignments.

Perinerual Injection Treatment

Here at Integrative Health and Injury Center we also use a technique called Perineural Injection Treatment to help address pain that is arising from inflamed or swollen nerves that occurs after an auto accident or work injury. The technique was developed by Dr. John Lyftogt, a medical doctor from New Zealand. The theory behind the technique is that superficial sensory nerves that arise from the peripheral nervous system are the cause of pain. By injecting these nerves with a mild dextrose solution we are able to calm down the inflammation in the nerves and get people out of pain in the office that day. The treatment typically calls for a series of 6-8 treatments to fully heal the nerve and eliminate pain, but each individual case responds differently and fewer treatments may be necessary.

Non-Opioid Pain Management

At Integrative Health and Injury Center depending on your specific case we also can prescribe non-opioid pharmaceuticals for your condition. During your initial visit we will take a thorough history of what happened during your auto accident or work injury and determine if pharmaceuticals are necessary to help with the disease process.
